Aren’t these two lovebirds adorable? I had the best time with these two: perfect weather, golden light, and lots of laughs. Going to be difficult to wait for their wedding day because it will be SO much fun! In the meantime I will enjoy these images from their engagement session.
Had to go get some color to offset those eyes! Such sparkle! And the way Jake looks at his bride just melts my ol’ Grinch heart 😉
Resist! Really, who can resist? Those smiles are just perfect…
That light! I made Kristin move scant inches to get that light in her hair. I didn’t have to do anything to get Jake to smile at her like that. True love, I tell ya.
I threatened Jake with this one….anyone who knows me knows I always follow through on my threats! haha! But what a fun, creepy, stalker photo.
Thanks for playing along with my crazy ideas Kristin and Jake! I can’t wait to see you guys on your wedding day. I know it’s going to be crazy awesome!

You know that saying “All because two people fell in love”? Yeah, these two are the start of the fun and crazy crew I had the privilege to photograph for a Lifestyle Session. These two lovebirds have been together 46 years. It’s still going strong….
Grandma is an avid reader. Much to my book-loving heart, she’s passing that love on to her grand babies. Look at that concentration! She made that story come to life for those littles. So sweet.
This guy? This guy is energy on steroids! lol He was a constant go, go, go, so when I noticed this moment unfolding I turned around and grabbed it. Such a precious moment. One that mom can look back on those “hard” days (all you mommas know what I’m talking about 😉 ) and realize that he is able to sit still! hahaha
Gotta love a dad of two girls who can go with the flow. And these two little ladies really seemed to think their daddy was a fun guy. Keep a hold of them, dad, they grow up fast!
Thank you so much T family. It was an awesome, dance-filled, cooking eating time. And next time? I’m totally snagging a cookie!

This is Caleb. He is one of the most relaxed, easy-going Seniors I’ve had. His mom wanted him to get his photos taken and so he did. He wasn’t told that he might actually enjoy it! (He said he did, honest!) So, armed with my handful of incredibly witty jokes – at least in my opinion – I got some awesome smiles from Caleb. This one included.
I bet you can’t tell Caleb likes football! Go on, admit it, you had no clue! I always encourage my Seniors to bring any mementos from their high school days. Team jerseys are always a good idea! Combined with a new-to-him truck and a killer smile and we’ve got a winner folks!
I asked him if he liked to hunt. Nope. Did he know he had dirt on his shirt? Yup. Did mom know he had dirt on his shirt? Yup. And mom, upon seeing the photo agreed, she did know about the dirt. It just made the photo all the more “him”. And me? I’m totally cool with a little personality, aka “dirt”, in a photo. All the more real….
Another one of my jokes made him smile! This is one of my favorites of Mr. C. A real natural in front of my camera. Thanks for humoring both your mother and me, Caleb. I had a blast meeting you! –thanks for stopping by!
Meet Charlie. Charlie and I go waaaay back. Longer than he has even been alive! Woah! What? Let me explain, his mother and I bonded way back in fourth grade over a game of hopscotch. So, yeah, Charlie and I have some history between us 😉 And Charlie himself? Charlie is a natural in front of the camera. Exhibit A:
Does anyone else think he looks like he should be an extra in a 1930’s movie? Definitely has that classic look…
Because brick is cool and I know how much his mom loves botanicals. (She loved our high school biology class where we had to collect leaves. Me? Not so much)
One of his favs, one of mine. And, really, how you have a photo of a high school senior and not have their phone in at least one of them? lol
Charlie, thanks for tolerating me! I’m thrilled to see what a fine young man you’ve become and know that you have a bright future ahead of you! Oh, and tell your mom we need to dust up on those hopscotch skills! 😀

I realized recently how long it had been since I uploaded anything to my blog. My sincerest apologies to anyone who has missed me! I was incredibly busy during the fall Senior season and just did not get around to blogging. Not that there weren’t amazing Seniors to blog! There were….just not enough time. Such is life.
BUT! Never fear! I am making time this season to show you the awesome Seniors that I have the opportunity to capture. First up is Paul. I have the unique pleasure (as with some of my past Seniors) of having interacted with Paul when he was in elementary school. I remember him as studious, intelligent and very earnest. I am happy to report that he is the same awesome young man that I remember. Only older.
Paul wanted some downtown / urban shots with maybe a little river. I aim to please! Up first, one of my favorites from his session. Paul, you set that city skyline off quite nicely.
We have an incredible treasure in an old bridge downtown. It is now for pedestrians only – and the occasional blue-eyed Senior. Makes for a great backdrop too!
Did I mention Paul is a gifted musician? I requested he play a bit for me. Did I mention that if you bring an instrument to your session that you have to play it for me? I didn’t? Consider yourself warned! 😉 Is he good? Well you be the judge as Paul received accolades from kayakers who were passing by! Yes, he’s good!
I managed to get Paul to crack a little at my incredibly awesome jokes (seriously, they’re awesome 😀 ) This is my favorite, by far. Love that happy almost-end-of-the-school-year smile.
It was wonderful to catch up with you, Paul! I’m hoping your architecture career has me seeing your name on buildings just like Frank Lloyd Wright! In the mean time, keep smiling!

The Fall Sessions of 2015 Seniors has proven to be nothing but spectacular! Full of awesome weather and Gorgeous Seniors!
And when I say gorgeous seniors I am definitely including this beauty: Catherine. She has a classic look about her. I know there’s a
movie star that she resembles but I can’t think of who. Perhaps one of you can help me out?
See what I mean about classic? Such a timeless look that Catherine has! Can’t you just picture her in a black and white movie? Kind of
a Hepburn style. I know I can! Lovely…
Not only does Miss Catherine have some of the most stunning blue eyes I’ve ever photographed but she’s got talent! She’s a
flautist. (I had to look up how to spell that!) But, seriously, playing the flute is something I’ve always admired. I played the
clarinette in middle school but the flute was never something I was able to even attempt. Oh, and the eyes? Did you SEE those eyes!?!
I just love how her easy going nature shines through here. I’m sure she’s a driven student though as she’s pretty confident she’s going to
school for Computer Engineering, more than likely at Purdue. Brains and beauty? Cha-ching!!
Yeah, I picked another photo of her spectacular eyes. It’s my blog and I can do that. 😉 How could I resist though?
Catherine, thanks so much for allowing me to capture your Senior Photos. I enjoyed spending time with you and wish you all the best
in your future endeavors. Maybe someday you can write a computer program that writes blog posts for me? lol

If I’m lucky, at least once a year, I get to photograph a Senior that I’ve known for a fair amount of time. I consider it a real privilege to get to capture photos for someone that I’ve watched grow up. Bailey is no exception. She is my brother-in-law’s niece so I’ve known her for quite some time. I’ve gotten to see her go from a preschooler to a high school Senior. And, truly, she’s been nothing but a sweet, sweet girl the whole time. Truly a pleasure to know. And it really shines through in her photos. Here, see for yourself:
Is she not gorgeous? And her eyes!! They’re stunning! Of course, if you’ve followed this blog for any length of time, you know how I am about eyes 😉
Miss Bailey is the full package too! She has played sports through high school, mainly soccer and basketball. She’s lettered as well. Talented!
She’s not 100% on where she’s going to school or whether it”ll be in Nursing or Sports Therapy (I think I’ve got that right?) but I’m sure wherever
she goes she will be a success! Best of Luck Bailey on the rest of your Senior year! I hope it’s full of laughter, memories and lots of friendships to
