>unwinding. And that’s just what I did yesterday. My bff and I went to the botanical gardens here in town. I hadn’t been there (except for field trips) in a long time. It’s easy to forget sometimes that there are beautiful places right in your own back yard! Anyway, we spent quite a bit of time in the gardens just exploring the flowers. Here’s two of my favorites:
There’s times that you just can’t beat the simplicity of a single leaf. I mean, really, what rivals the crisp edge of a leaf? How the edge just seems to dip and sway with it’s gentle curves. Yeah, I got a thing for leaves. Must go back to that whole trees fascination I have.
Again, with the edges for me. I love how much mood and expression a single flower can have. From delicate to bold and outspoken, each variety has its own language.
And this one? I can’t explain it except to say, it speaks to me some how. The hubster will look at it and say that he simply “doesn’t get it”. And, of course, I will tell him that he doesn’t have to. Its all about the mood. This to me speaks of mysteries in the deep, dark forest. Or perhaps it’s underwater…what does it say to you?
This is my bff. My partner in crime. The one who will laugh as loudly as I do in a quiet room. Understands my obscure jokes and has been around long enough to know my quirks. Oh, and even though she was a photo-taking-freak before, I drug her into the SLR world. She’s doing quite well!
